[C.A/P.A.] Eddsworld x Bee and Puppycat: Puppytom

Description

A continuation of this [ fav.me/d7rtlf2 ] idea!
Here's more material for an Eddsworld x Bee and Puppycat semi-crossover! And there's going to be more in the future!
(But don't worry, that doesn't mean I've forgotten about the other things I was working on.)

---

In this semi-crossover and alternate universe, this little fella here - named Puppytom because he looks like a tomcat and dog - takes Puppycat's role.
Yes, this is who Tom is in this universe! But at the same time, he's not Tom but more of Puppycat.

Where he comes from is different. Instead of falling out of space/the sky, this universe's Puppycat comes from the internet subspace (I'll explain this new setting and change of theme in a moment - keep reading!).
In this universe, the story begins when Puppytom comes blasting out of Edd's computer screen (while she was animating something) and landing on her while she falls over on the floor from the force. Similar situation as Bee and Puppycat, but not quite.

The internet is a world of its own beyond what's displayed on the computer screen in this universe (the Internet Edd knows of is only the "face" of the world behind it!), and Puppytom himself is one of the beings that live in it. Or rather, come from it.
Because of the change in setting, Puppytom has more "electronic"  components in his design than a space alien theme. He acts like a robotic animal more, too - but that's because of the form he's taken on.
So who is Puppytom, exactly? His past would be just as mysterious as Puppycat's! He may or may not be an infamous wanted outlaw, an internet subspace being with a lot of authority, an unfortunate subspace being who got caught in a war between the "high" beings and "low" beings...
Of course, this isn't his true form.
There are lots and lots of changes in backstory in this semi-crossover. I think this calls for an explanation later on!

Puppytom acts as the "key" for the "gate" to the internet subspace. He's what allows Edd to enter the Internet subspace. He also acts like an internet mailbox for Edd, too.
His job in this universe is like Puppycat's, except he's not exactly a space temp agent. Puppytom is more of an employee for.. an organization that anything from the subspace can turn to for any kind of help and anybody in the group can take up the job offers.
So more of their equivalent of a police officer? And of course, there are requirements as to who can be a subspace police officer! Edd happened to meet those requirements.
Little do both know then, Puppytom is not the only one who can go back and forth between the two universes! There are other beings...

Whenever Puppytom gets a job offer, the black in his eyes "split" and rotate around like a loading symbol. His tail also lights up rapidly and his bow "shifts" colors - black turns to white, white turns to black. The job offer comes out of his mouth as a hologram at first, but when he or Edd touches it, it turns into an actual thing that can be held.
Rule of cool.

I imagine the first job offer the duo get involves slaying some sort of subspace beast that is created from the aftermath of an event... and said beast recognizes Puppytom as an important figure to that event?

Wow, the description for this is longer than the description for Edd's concept art?! Unbelievable.
If you've read the entire thing above, I want to thank you for doing that and expressing interest in this semi-crossover. I should really stop typing these long paragraphs.

I was going to name this guy differently (original names were Tomeecat, Tomdog, etc.) but I hope the wordplay isn't lost!

I also couldn't incorporate many of Tom's design elements here. Augh.
He looks more of a dog than a cat, but that's intentional! Edd gets Puppytom's name from looking at him the opposite way Bee did to Puppycat (Bee says "A cat? ...Or a dog?" when she looks at Puppycat for the first time. Edd would say "A dog? ...Or a cat?".)
But wait, how does Edd know if Puppytom is a tom? Plot hole, or foreshadowing?

The reason why I changed the space theme to a more internet-y theme is to tie it closer to how Eddsworld was created and to the people themselves - Edd especially.
A bit of a shabby explanation, and it's also because I want to try something new. More internet jokes coming right up!

I do not own Bee and Puppycat or Eddsworld.
Bee and Puppycat belongs to Natasha Allegri.
